About the Post:

Cherish UK are looking to employ a Therapeutic Pathway Manager to work within their therapy-led children’s home. An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a team delivering child care based on a strong psychological and theoretical framework to some of the most complex and challenging looked after children. Cherish UK specialises in providing care to children and young people who may have a range of complex needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our young people may have additional barriers to living and learning such as social and communicative needs and may be vulnerable due to a risk of self-injurious or challenging behaviours. We ensure the young people feel safe and valued and support them to attain positive outcomes in all aspects of their lives on a sustainable and on-going basis.
The therapeutic model implemented within our home draws heavily on the essence of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in that it is evidence based, goal-orientated and treatment planned utilising effective and timely interventions. In addition to the Cognitive Behavioural methodology which underpins the therapeutic model, all practice draws upon attachment informed delivery striving for stability, security and reciprocal relationships to deal with early traumatic experiences that impact on development across the life span. We seek staff members that are psychological minded and have a firm understanding of attachment disorders and how this presents itself in daily life.
The role of the Therapeutic Pathway Manager will be to support the children and young people in their psychoeducation by delivering 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions, as well as supporting the staff in their delivery of care. The successful candidate will deliver training and reflective practice to staff members to ensure that they remain psychologically minded and have the best understanding of the young people and their presenting issues. In addition to this the Therapeutic Pathway Manager will lead on case formulation and therapeutic treatment planning, as well as work in consultation with the Registered Manager with regards to risk assessments and management plans.
We are committed to equal opportunities, a copy of our Equality and Diversity Policy is available upon request.
